    Why the name CAATail?

In a Marine Corps Weapons Company, there is traditionally two "CAAT" (Combined Anti Armor Team) platoons. During my time with 3/6 CAAT 1, we found that a traditional "whip" antenna was restrictive when dismounting and entering a tactical vehicle. The development and employment of the CAATail shortly followed to correct that problem.
